V1.1 is now in the App Store! Forums are now live!

Go to the App Store on your iPhones, hit the update tab, and look for Quantum Cat! Alternatively you can update using the original Quantum Cat iTunes link:

We're planning to release updates once every few weeks so the Quantum Cat experience will continue to improve over time. One of the big features that we've put in based on a lot of your feedback is allowing warp gems to converted to credits for spending in the Shop! Now every warp gem collected in-game will automatically be converted into 1 CR for buying new gear and upgrades in the Hybris Shop.

Here's the list of what's new in v1.1:

  • warp gems are now automatically converted to credits for spending in the Shop
  • new power-up:  gravity field!  (attracts gems, power-ups, and cargo for a short duration)
  • added an interactive gold boost/charging tutorial which walks you through using gold boosts and beating the bosses
  • reduced boss health in the early sectors

We've also created a forum for Quantum Cat players to share their thoughts, likes/dislikes, and suggestions for the game. Stop in and say hello! We'd love to hear your feedback on the types of things you'd like to see included in future updates. Check it out here or using the link above.

Happy flying!

The final stretch.

So this is it! We're ironing out the last few bugs in the game and prepping the app for submission to the App Store. What this means is that barring a hiccup or two in the submission process, everyone will hopefully have a copy of Quantum Cat in their pockets by some time next week.

Making this game has been a crazy journey for everyone involved, with plenty of unexpected surprises along the way. For most of us, Quantum Cat represents the first attempt at designing and executing a complete, real-world, commercial product. Certainly none of us has ever shipped a game before. Everything up until now has been a tremendous learning opportunity not just in game design but in project management, teamwork, marketing, and business planning. There are so many challenges that you don't have to consider when working at big companies on big projects and watching those challenges pile up in front of you is a massively humbling experience. I can't say for sure whether or not people will eventually become as passionate about Quantum Cat as we've been for the past 6 months, but what I do know is that everyone on the team has tried their absolute, unconditional best to make it happen.

I hope you guys enjoy the game!
